Sophia Daskalaki is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras. She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Massachusetts, an M.S. in Statistics and Operations Research from Oregon State University, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Her research interests include stochastic modeling with applications to financial data, modeling and analysis of Internet and social network data, data mining for prediction and classification, integer programming for timetabling and scheduling, and performance analysis of queuing networks.

She has extensive academic and research experience in both Greece and abroad, including previous positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories (USA) and the University of Massachusetts. She has participated as a coordinator or team member in numerous national and international research projects and has authored or co-authored many publications in leading journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research, Expert Systems with Applications, and the Journal of Scheduling.
