Our master student Maria Kounalaki with the Ph.D. student Ioulia Simou under the supervision of Assistant Professor Andreas Komninos, received the best paper award for their paper :
Pseudo-haptic and Self-haptic Feedback During VR Text Entry
This paper presents a study comparing two VR text-entry methods — a self-haptic bimanual keyboard where users select keys with one hand and confirm them with a pinch gesture, and a pseudo-haptic keyboard that gives visual feedback when pressing virtual keys. The authors found that the pseudo-haptic method enables faster text entry, while both techniques show similar error rates and potential for improved VR typing performance. This work was based on Maria’s M.Sc. thesis and it was presented in 2nd International Conference of the ACM Greek SIGCHI Chapter that took place in Athens in September 2023.
Congratulations to all!
